I wanted to share my recent audiobook adventure with “Educated” by Tara Westover, narrated by Julia Whelan – and wow, what a journey! Tara’s story is a rollercoaster of grit, resilience, and the pursuit of knowledge. Julia Whelan’s narration brings every emotion to life; it’s like having a friend tell you this incredible tale. From the mountains of Idaho to the halls of academia, you’ll be on the edge of your seat (or earbuds) the whole time. The narrative is both heart-wrenching and inspiring, and you’ll find yourself cheering for Tara every step of the way. If you’re into powerful memoirs with a side of jaw-dropping moments, this one’s a must-listen.
Read!
So, I recently dove into Rupi Kaur’s “Milk and Honey”. Rupi’s poetry is this beautiful blend of raw emotion and simplicity that hits you right in the feels. Each page feels like a conversation with your own heart, tackling everything from love to healing to self-discovery. It’s like a journey. The short and sweet verses make it easy to connect with, and you might find yourself nodding along, going, “Yep, I’ve been there.” If you’re into poetry that speaks straight to the heart and doesn’t need a PhD in literature to get, “Milk and Honey” is your golden ticket. Highly recommend giving it a read!

Have you ever tried Lavender Lemon Cookies? Add a touch of floral flavor to your cookies by incorporating dried lavender. Pair it with lemon for a delightful springtime treat. These cookies sound like a delightful treat! Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:
Ingredients:
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender (make sure it’s food-grade)
– 1 egg
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Zest of 2 lemons
– 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
– 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Grind the dried lavender in a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder. You want a fine consistency, but be careful not to turn it into powder.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, ground lavender, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each. Gently flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass or your hand. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, you can dust the cookies with powdered sugar for a finishing touch. Grab a cup of tea or coffee, and enjoy these delightful lavender lemon cookies with their unique floral and citrusy flavor!
Wear!
Can we talk about my go-to outfit of the week? A crisp white woman’s T-shirt paired with a sassy black skirt. Topped off with a chic beige blazer, a small black handbag slung over my shoulder, and the half-boots in, you guessed it, black! It’s the kind of combo that makes you feel like you’ve got your life together, even if you really don’t. I’ve amped up the vibe by coordinating my nails with the outfit’s color palette. What’s your favorite outfit this week?
Learn!
New challenge to learn! Let’s chat about the magic of understanding basic color palettes! Knowing the ropes of color can turn your world into a canvas. Imagine being the mastermind behind combinations that just click! Basics like complementary colors (they’re like BFFs on the color wheel) or analogous ones (neighbors that get along) can transform anything from your wardrobe to your room decor. Learning this color language isn’t just for artists; it’s for anyone who wants to sprinkle a bit of pizzazz in their life. From choosing outfits to decorating spaces, and even in presentations or social media posts, understanding color palettes helps you communicate vibes effectively. If you like to know more about the color palettes in interior design, here is my post about it.
Write!
Have you ever written about the world of the first signs of spring? This time of the year is a perfect time to do it! Imagine capturing those moments when nature hits the refresh button – the sight of blossoms waking up, the melody of birds tuning their springtime symphony, and the sweet scent of flowers dancing in the air. Paint a picture with your words, and let’s celebrate the end of winter and the dawn of a vibrant new season. Share your take on the first whispers of spring, and let the words bloom just like the flowers around you.
Do!
I have something for you to do in upcoming week! Starting a small garden with spring flowers or herbs! It is like giving yourself a daily dose of nature’s magic. Whether you have a backyard or just a tiny balcony, or even a window, you can create your own pocket-sized paradise. Grab a pot, some soil, and your favorite seeds or baby plants, and let the gardening therapy begin!
Say!
Vince Lombardi‘s wisdom in the quote, “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up,” packs a powerful punch of motivation. Life has a way of throwing challenges our way, and it’s not about avoiding the bumps but rather about our resilience in the face of adversity. Lombardi’s words remind us that setbacks are inevitable, but the true measure of our character lies in our ability to rise after a fall. It’s an empowering perspective, encouraging us to view obstacles not as roadblocks but as opportunities for growth. So, let’s channel our inner strength, dust off the setbacks, and rise with determination, knowing that each time we get up, we’re building a stronger version of ourselves!
End Note…
What a week it’s been! Whether you’ve been enthralled by captivating stories, enjoyed a burst of flavors with Lavender Lemon Cookies, or embraced the therapeutic joys of gardening, you’ve added a touch of magic to your days. Remember, setbacks are just stepping stones to a stronger you. Keep rising, keep learning, and keep embracing the beauty of each day. Until next week, stay inspired and keep the positivity flowing! Happy week! 🙂
